Do I need any hairdressing experience to apply?
No. Our Foundation Certificate in Hairdressing is perfect for those who have no or little experience in hairdressing. Entry onto our Advanced Certificate does require either completion of the Foundation Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
How old do I need to be?
Applicants onto our full time and Youth Training courses must be aged 16 or over.
How long are the courses?
Our full time courses are 34 weeks. The hours are 8.45am until 4.15pm from Tuesday to Friday. Monday is a self directed study day for students to complete any projects and study for any theory tests.
Can I get a student loan?
Yes. Students who are New Zealand or Australian residents can apply for student loans and allowances. Visit www.studylink.govt.nz for more information on application.

Is there a dress code at Servilles Academy?
We don’t have a uniform here at the Servilles Academy but we do require our students to look professional at all times. Hairdressing is at the forefront of fashion so it’s important we look the part! We will explain this more at the interview.
